One research group is investigating how use of touchscreen devices by children aged 6 months to 3 years influences their cognitive, brain and social development. The experiment involves placing a rubbery cap covered in electrodes on the baby's head to measure the electrical activity in his brain. A smartwatch is placed on each ankle to monitor movement and heart rate, probably without mentioning to the mother that "smart" technology emits harmful radiation.
